Guard Your Heart; Protect Your Picture

Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Proverbs 4:23 (MSG)

Let’s pretend that you have been given a diagnosis that requires a miraculous healing. You could get caught up in trying to determine where you will find the measures to heal and how the healing will happen. However, you receive a miracle by finding a promise from God and maintaining a picture of the end result in your heart. The heart doesn’t need to figure things out.

Proverbs 4:23 warns us to guard our hearts with all diligence. To guard your heart, you need to help it hold the picture of the finished answer. You must protect it against pictures that are contrary.

If a well-meaning family member seems to always direct the conversation towards the negative, you have to interrupt them and possibly separate yourself from them, provided they are not your spouse! “Research” on the internet must also be done very carefully. You don’t want to focus on the worst-case scenario!

As you maintain the picture of God’s promises coming into your life, your heart goes to work to attract the right set of circumstances around you to make the miracle happen. Your heart prepares to experience that picture.

What are you believing for? Maintain a vision of that promise in your heart, and everything on the planet will begin to move towards creating that vision inside you.
