GOD’S PROMISE OF PROTECTION

No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. Psalm 91:10–12 (NLT)

Yesterday we saw how God has promised us peace and a sound mind. Today let’s look at the sixth promise in our series of powerful declarations for moms: “My family and I walk in divine protection—always.”

As a parent, it’s easy to worry about the safety and wellbeing of your kids. When you hear stories of tragic accidents, the question that tends to grip you is, “What if it happens to my family?” I’ve simply decided not to go there. I don’t let other’s experiences rewrite God’s promises.

One story of supernatural protection happened in my young teenage years. I came outside one day and saw my little brother—who was two or three years old at the time—standing on the roof of the house with nothing but concrete driveway below.

I wanted to shout at him to be careful, but instead said quietly, “Hey buddy, take two steps back for me.” He did, and I asked him, “How did you get up there?” He pointed to a nearby tree. So, I guided him carefully over to the tree again and got him down to safety. Thinking back, I imagine an angel was standing there, one hand on my brother’s chest to keep him from falling to the pavement below.

Remember this: protection is a promise, but it’s up to you to speak it over your life, your spouse and your kids. Declare that your family walks in divine protection wherever they go!
