GOD’S PROMISE OF GUIDANCE

The guard who is posted to protect the sheep opens the gate for the shepherd, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. John 10:3 (VOICE)

Moms are faced with dozens of decisions every day. That makes this fourth prayer in our series so powerful. Every day, you can say, “I receive God’s personal guidance and He leads me to good things.”

Some people believe God will lead them to bad things to help them learn and grow. But God is not such an ineffective teacher that He needs to resort to tragedies or horrible circumstances to make you learn.

Life has enough challenges of its own, and you can learn just as many lessons as you walk through good things. For every new blessing that comes into your life or new level of success you reach, you will need to learn new management skills. For example, the birth of your first baby was a blessing—but that blessing meant you had to learn how to parent, how to manage your time differently and how to handle more demands on your energy.

John 10:3 says Jesus calls His own sheep by name. I would encourage you to make promises like this one personal. You can say, “Jesus knows me and calls me by name. He is personally leading me down the best path, and all His plans for me are good.”

Begin to declare every day that you receive God’s guidance and that He’s guiding you to good things in every area of your life. It’s time to get your hopes up because your Heavenly Father will never let you down!
