God’s Love Draws Us Back

Leon FontaineDevoted

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV)

Yesterday we covered two scriptures you can claim over the lives of youth that are wandering away from their faith and/or their relationship with their parents. Today, let’s cover another that applies.

Romans 8:35–39 is a powerful passage that speaks of God’s love for us. It starts with, “So who can separate us? What can come between us and the love of God’s Anointed? Can troubles, hardships, persecution, hunger, poverty, danger, or even death? The answer is, absolutely nothing” (VOICE).

It then goes on to list all the things that fail to separate us from God’s love (see today’s verse). Let’s think about these verses for a minute. Can anything separate us from God’s love for us? If these kids you’re praying for are being influenced by their peers, is that more powerful than God’s love for them? Do their mess ups and failures separate them from God’s love?

No! NOTHING can separate them from God’s love!

Now, let’s claim these verses over their lives: “Father, thank you that nothing could ever separate (names) from your love. NOTHING!  No matter what happens, they are more than conquerors in Christ. They will always have victory, and nothing will ever come between them and your love for them. Romans 2:4 says that it’s your goodness that leads us to follow you, so I’m believing that (names) are going to become more aware of your love and goodness, and they’re going to choose to draw closer to you!”
