God’s Love Changes Us

Leon FontaineDevoted

May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, that you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];…practically, through experience…; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! Ephesians 3:17–19 (AMPC)

We’ve been on a series of devotionals talking about verses we can claim over the lives of our loved ones, and today’s verse is one of my favourites!

Why does this verse stand above in my mind? Because it is so life-changing. You see, when someone catches even a glimpse of God’s love for them, they can’t help but be changed forever.

God’s love inspires us to follow Jesus. It motivates us to follow His principles and live His way, because we realize that those guidelines were set in place not to limit us but to protect us. God’s love fills us up and makes us want to love others with that same unconditional love. It inspires us to serve, to be selfless, to reach higher and to become all that we can be so we can bring Him glory.

God’s love is amazing!

That’s why I love to pray this prayer over my loved ones: “Father, help (names) to be rooted and established in your love, so that they will begin to grasp how wide and long and high and deep it is—this love that is much greater than we will ever understand. Thank you for filling them to overflowing with all the fullness of your love!”
