Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.
Psalm 40:5
People often make the mistake of thinking that they have one dream in life. For example, you might dream of being an actor, doctor or of making it big in business. There’s nothing wrong with any of those dreams, but you have to realize that you can dream of being an actor and of having a fantastic marriage. You can dream of making it big in business and of raising great kids at the same time. You aren’t limited to one dream. In fact, life is a series of interconnected dreams.
If you focus on only one grandiose dream for your career, you will bankrupt your marriage and family to pursue it. You need to develop a dream for your marriage, one for your career, and one for your relationship with your kids. You can also dream of developing an incredibly close friendship with God where you receive clear direction from him.
You see, God has dreams for you too. In fact, God’s dreams for you are better than you could ever imagine.
Often people don’t trust that God’s dreams for them are the best, but God’s dreams for you are perfectly suited to your natural gifts and abilities, matching up with your likes and dislikes. He created you, after all, so no one knows you better.
Although fulfilling his dreams for you still involves hard work, keep turning to him and he will fuel you with the passion, excitement and energy you need to fulfill each one.
