God Makes Up The Difference

“Each time He said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)

Sometimes your best effort will feel as though it is not enough. It can be easy to dwell on shortcomings and failures—we all have them. However, you cannot take regret with you if you want to move forward.

A life of regret is painful. If you do not forgive yourself, you carry around a tiring load: the baggage of regret. It saps your energy, leaving you little fuel for your future.

As a follower of Jesus, God forgave you for it all. So can you. No matter what you have done or have failed to do, forgive yourself. Do it not only for you, but for everyone in relationship with you.

Forgiveness is not a one-second decision that you make and then promptly forget. It is a process—a choice you may have to make each time you are reminded of your shortcomings.

This is where you need God. Take your weakness to Him. He promises to be strong for you whenever you are weak. He bridges the gap between what you can do and what needs to be done. Trust that
He will make up the difference when you ask Him to. He is not limited by your shortcomings and faults.

Accept the past and be excited for the future. Live with passion. Do not waste time regretting the past and worrying over the future. Instead of thinking about what you could have done better yesterday, do something amazing today.
