Get Off The Treadmill

May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality] Ephesians 3:16 (AMP)

Ever feel like you are on a treadmill in life that’s going faster and faster, with little to no control from you?

It seems like today many live in a constant state of rush. Some get up and grab a coffee to kick them into high gear. They work at a frantic pace and their evenings are just as rushed. Finally, they fall into bed exhausted before it’s time to do it all over again.

We are all trying to do more and accomplish much and that’s okay. But it’s absolutely devastating if we ignore our inner lives.

Most of what we do is focused on our outer lives. We have no trouble spending time, effort and money to look good, develop a social life and create success at work. That’s great—I do it too. But what are you doing to cultivate your inner life?

Your inner life is the part of you that houses your deepest thoughts and beliefs. It’s the control center of your life—whatever goes on in your inner life eventually ends up visible in your outer life.

Cultivate your inner life by taking the time to question what you believe. Everything—relating to work, relationships and emotions— comes out of this power center. Create balance by fostering thinking patterns and beliefs in your inner life that will take you where you want to go.
