Get In On His Rest

Leon FontaineDevoted

Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still holds and is offered [ today ], let us be afraid [ to distrust it ], lest any of you should think he has come too late and has come short of [ reaching ] it. Hebrews 4:1 (AMPC)

As believers, we are overcomers. We are more than conquerors. We are empowered to rise above the struggles of life.

However, we can’t be complacent. It’s easy to get caught up in fear, low self-esteem and hopelessness, so we need to keep our minds focused on the reality that we have God’s presence and spirit inside us.

We weren’t designed to handle the stresses and pressures of life without an awareness of God’s presence in us. When we go through seasons that are hard to handle, we need to stay aware of that presence so God’s peace can wrap around us. This is how we stay in his rest, and how we stand firm in our faith. Then, even when we can’t see a solution, we stand in faith that the power of God will move on our behalf and the miraculous will begin to happen.

Over the past few days we’ve been talking about the fact we can stay aware of God’s presence in us by praising him every day. Next we’re going to cover how. We all have our ideas when it comes to praise. But let’s find out what the Word says about how to praise God.

As a believer, the presence of God is in you. You can cultivate and enjoy his presence, and learn to live in his rest. Spend time praising him today, and start reaping the benefits of his peace and rest!
