Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12 (NIV)
You really need to pick more fights.
Now, let me clarify. I’m not saying you should be starting more fights with people. I’m talking about fighting the good fight of faith, about getting a fighting spirit and a passionate outlook on life. It’s about fighting for the kind of life you want.
So, how do you fight for that abundant life, the life that Jesus promises us in John 10:10? Well, it’s not about begging and pleading with God for what you want. It’s also not about fighting God to try and get something from him that he doesn’t want you to have. It’s not even about fighting the devil, really. It’s about exercising the authority you’ve been given—the authority God wants you to be walking in every day!
When I first learned that I could fight for the kind of life I wanted, I got excited about Christianity. I discovered how powerful our words can be, especially when we claim God’s promises for our lives, and I thought, Now this is the kind of life I want to live!
Do you want it too? Do you want to live a life where you know how to get up and fight for what you want? Over the next few weeks, I’m going to show you how to pray and get results. We’re going to go promise by promise, and I’m going to share with you how I claim each one over my life and the lives of others.
Get ready to fight the fight of faith and win!
