And how will they preach unless they are commissioned and sent [ for that purpose ]? Just as it is written and forever remains written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” Romans 10:15 (AMP)
Do you ever wake up with your stomach in a knot? If so, its probably because you’re expecting something bad to happen.
The trouble is, expectations often influence reality. In the positive, we call this faith. It starts with hope, which builds into a confident expectation, and that expectation helps to bring about what we’re hoping for.
But if we’re expecting something to go wrong, that’s hope in the negative, and it can cause things to go wrong. It’s not because God wants it to go wrong or because you deserve it, but your expectation connects you to what you dread and fear.
Meanwhile, we as believers have no reason to expect the negative. God has forgiven us; He’s not bringing bad things into our lives. He brings only blessings. The more you study this truth in God’s Word, the more you’ll start to expect good things to happen to you.
It’s like a seed that gets planted in the soil. As it rains and the sun shines, the seed comes up. If you allow the teaching of God’s Word to come in, it needs time to grow up inside of you and push out the old. And then you will begin to expect good things to happen. You’ll begin to have hope and you’ll grow your faith.
Keep studying God’s promises in His Word and you’ll start expecting things to go well. Like a seed, this expectation grows in your heart until you find yourself waking up every morning saying, “Something good is going to happen today. I just know it!”
