Jesus said that his yoke is easy and his burden is light.
This doesn’t mean that life will always be easy. What it means is you’re yoked (or connected) to Jesus. A yoke is a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to something they are to pull. It’s a beautiful picture for life. As a believer, you aren’t alone. You’re teamed up with Jesus, and his strength never fails!
With him, you can change and grow. With him, you can walk out the potential that is already in you in Christ. It’s not about trying to become something you’re not or striving for an impossible goal. This goal is entirely possible. In him, you already have everything you need to achieve it.
God never asks us to live up to a standard that is impossible for us to achieve. As a new creation with the nature of God inside us, we have his power working with us and in us and through us, which means it’s entirely possible!
As a believer, you are empowered to change, grow and begin to think and act more like Jesus!
You are a forgiven, born-again, spirit-filled being who is empowered by God. It’s time to start accessing that power! Make the decision to spend time in God’s Word every day so you can rise up and act in a way that lines up with who Christ has made you to be: victorious!
