Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV)
The truth is not complicated. If you want to experience more of God in your life, ask. If you want to hear what He’s saying to you as you read the Bible, ask. If you are facing a problem that seems to have no answer, ask.
Often we’re hesitant to ask God for things because we’re afraid of rejection or disappointment. But after encouraging us to ask for what we need, Jesus said, “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:9-11).
God loves you completely, abundantly and unconditionally. His plans for you are unquestionably good. His promises are overwhelmingly full and complete in every way, for every area of your life.
When things get tough, ask God to help you receive His guidance and walk in the strength He’s given you.
And when we rely on His power at work within us, Ephesians 3:20 says He’s sure to “do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]” (AMPC)!
