God is all about love and relationships. In fact, He’s the very source of love itself! Many religions believe in mean, impossible to please gods. Or they believe in a god who creates a bunch of rules and will nail you if you disobey them. But our God, THE one and only God, isn’t like that at all!
In Psalms 34, David says when you experience God, you discover that He is good. Now, if God is good and God is love (1 John 4:7-12) then God’s love is good, and we can walk in His love in every one of our relationships: through parental love, romantic love, familial love, the love between friends, and love in every part of our lives.
When we invest in our relationships, we express love in so many ways. It causes us to experience a closer bond with others which expands into comfort, trust and security. We feel understood and valued and our loved ones enjoy the same in return. Who doesn’t want that? This is the same relationship Father God wants with us!
If we stop building the relationship with people who are closest to us, it brings us pain. But when we take time to work on and build our relationships, they can become our greatest source of joy!
Love is the most compelling, powerful force out there. If we want to experience how incredible love can truly be, we need to build our relationships intentionally. Let’s ensure that we invest in our relationships to keep them healthy and growing!
