Destined To Be Blessed

You, who were spiritually dead because of your sins and your uncircumcision ( i.e. the fact that you were outside the Law ), God has now made to share in the very life of Christ! Colossians 2:13 (PHILLIPS)

As believers, we share in the life of Christ. He was the first-born, our example. The more we learn about Him, the more we come to know what

we are capable of, because as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

Jesus had authority over the devil, sickness and disease. Everything

bowed to Jesus and we share His life. We died with Him, we rose again in victory, and we’re seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:5-6). We share in His authority.

As believers, heaven is our eternal home. I know we’re not perfect, but we were born again into the family of God, and our nature has changed. We belong to God. Not only are we destined for heaven, but 1 John 5:4 says we’re destined to overcome in this world: “For everyone born of God overcomes the world.”

We are destined for heaven, destined to overcome, and destined to enjoy God’s blessings. You see, Jesus died on the cross for you and me. He took our sin and the curse of the law that went with it, so that the blessings of Abraham could be upon us (Galatians 3:14). In fact, we aren’t just reckoned as righteous, as Abraham was. A miracle took place and we

became the righteousness of God in Christ.

I think we need to be reminded of this stunning revelation. When you gave your life to Christ, you became a child of God. That means you are a citizen of heaven, you’re empowered to overcome anything in the world, and you are blessed!
