For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC)
If you skimmed over today’s verse, I want you to stop right now and read it again.
Isn’t it incredible?
This verse says that God has already prearranged the good life for you! This means he pre-arranged great friendships, blessing, and prosperity. He prearranged great relationships, laughter, health and joy. He prearranged great things for your life, but he’s not forcing you to take the paths that lead to that kind of life. It’s your choice.
And even if you walk in this good life he prearranged, it doesn’t mean that your life will always be a picnic. Your choices still have consequences, and sometimes unfortunate circumstances arise. We all have problems, but we need to know that God’s plans for us are good!
If the enemy can get us stuck in religious thinking and cause us to question God’s will, we won’t believe for his best. If he can get us focused on the unanswered prayers we’ve had or others have had, he will sabotage our faith.
God’s plan for you is change! You were designed to dream, to live out the great life God prearranged for you and to do great things for him.
