So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)
After my wife’s mom passed away, we were involved in settling her estate, which included a few acres of land. We decided to have a few trees
and old buildings cleared from the land before selling it.
When the bulldozer had finished, it looked like a tornado had hit. There were roots coming out of the ground everywhere! It reminded me that when it comes to trees, everything you see above ground is also below, where you can’t see it. In fact, what’s below determines what you see above. A tree is only as good as its root system.
The same could be said of what’s going on inside you. Whatever you’re growing in your life has a root system in your heart. So if you don’t like what you’re growing, it’s time to get to the root.
Even if you’ve never planted anything in your heart intentionally, there’s still a root system going on. It’s time to treat your heart like an expert landscaper treats a piece of land. Plant what you want in it by meditating on God’s Word and you’ll get the life of your dreams.
The best part about God’s Word is that once it is planted it’s un-killable and unstoppable. It will choke out every misbelief and overcome all unbelief. His Word always works.
You are made in God’s likeness and image. He has a plan for your life. Together, you can make it through any storm. These are the kind of attitudes you can have as you plant God’s Word in your heart!
