I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Ephesians 3:16 (NLT)
Holy Spirit can centre you through anything.
When I’m going through a tough situation, I want to spend time with Holy Spirit. Sometimes getting a sense for His presence is easy. Other times it feels like I have to dig for it.
I’m not sure if digging is the right word, but it feels much like digging for a well because suddenly I will hit a gusher. Strength pours in and the fear dissipates, replaced by a confident knowledge that I am going to be okay.
Here are three things you can do to connect with Holy Spirit:
- Sing
Whenever you can, sing songs about God’s goodness. Worship opens your heart to experience Holy Spirit’s presence.
- Read the Bible
I find that no matter how busy I am; I never regret quiet time with Holy Spirit. As I read the Bible and ask for His help to understand what I’m reading, much of the stress and pressure I face seems to melt away and strength rises up in me.
- Pray in the Spirit
At times I have experienced a constant barrage of negative thoughts on my mind. Praying in the Spirit seems to enlarge the presence of Holy Spirit and it replaces those negative thoughts.
If you’re facing a difficult situation, take the time to connect with Holy Spirit and experience His amazing peace and strength.
