Change What You See

For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)

There is great power in what you see in your heart.

Years ago, I prayed for a man who tearfully explained how his wife had become unfaithful. She often came home to him and their two children drunk and with another man.

As I prayed for him, he continued to sob and cry. He was grieving. Deep down, he truly saw no hope and could envision nothing but more of the same. Since you cannot be without hope and full of faith at the same time, we needed to change his picture.

We prayed and asked Holy Spirit to help him to envision his wife in church with arms raised in worship. It was very difficult, but after a while he reported that he was beginning to picture it. I could see a small twinkle of hope return to his eyes.

About six months later I met him again. He had continued to imagine his new picture. At first nothing changed. Then one morning when he and his kids were ready to leave for church, she appeared—dressed and ready as well. That day at church, she began a relationship with Christ and he told me of the amazing transformation that continued to take place in her life.

I’ve shared this story with you today to encourage you. You can also release your faith by envisioning God’s promises for your life!

According to 2 Corinthians 5:7, we walk by faith, not by sight. What have you been praying for? Begin to see with the eyes of faith that your prayer has been answered (Hebrews 11:1, AMP)!
