THE REBORN EXPERIENCE

Leon FontaineDevoted

As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. 2 Peter 1:3 (NKJV) If I was holding a glass of water and began praying, “Oh God, please give me something to drink,” you would look at me like I’m crazy. But I find that much of the church spends their time praying for things they already have. They haven’t realized the full extent of what it means to be born again. We need to understand the reborn experience. As a believer, you’re not lacking wisdom. You already have wisdom because the Spirit of all truth lives within you (John 16:13). God’s Word says as you go into situations …

PEACE IS YOUR REALITY

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 (NKJV) As a believer, the wisdom, love and joy of Jesus are your inheritance. Today, there’s one more ability I want study with you: His peace. Jesus teaches us that we can decide not to let our hearts be troubled. You see, you can be aware of problems and still be at peace. He said in John 16:33 (AMPC), “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be …

A FORCE OF HEAVENLY JOY

Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory. 1 Peter 1:8 (NKJV) Not only do you have the wisdom and love of God within your reborn spirit, but you also have His joy. It’s not a fake kind of happiness—because happiness stems from happenings. No, this is an incredibly deep-seated joy bubbling up from your spirit. What is the opposite of joy? I would say it’s emptiness. I don’t know how many calls I’ve received from people in the midst of depression or suicidal thoughts. They feel empty, like nothing they achieve or do can fulfill them. This is why you find verses like John 15:11 (NKJV), where Jesus says, “These things I have spoken to …

LEAD WITH SUPERNATURAL LOVE

Leon FontaineDevoted

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:35 (NLT) Yesterday we saw how you have God’s wisdom in your reborn spirit—the hidden man. Another thing you possess is His love. Now, I’m not talking about an emotion. To love is to value someone. God’s love enables you to know who you are in Christ and lead with a servant’s heart. It also gives you the power to show love to unlovely people. That doesn’t mean you let anyone walk all over you. If you have to fire someone, for instance, you can release them in such a way that shows they are a person of value. You can confront others in love, be a leader in love and make …

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BEG FOR WISDOM

Leon FontaineDevoted

May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. Colossians 1:11–12 (NLT) When you were born again, you received more than God’s nature—you also received His supernatural ability.  We’re going to spend the next few days unpacking some of these abilities. The first is wisdom. When Jesus was talking to some Bible scholars in Matthew 12:42, He made a startling statement. Referring to Himself, He said that someone greater than Solomon was there. This was a lofty claim to make, since Solomon was the wisest man who had ever lived. But what’s even more amazing is that as a believer, you are also greater than him! You …
