And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24 (NKJV) If you’ve given your life to Christ, you are a new creation. However, this Christian life is a faith life. You need to believe you’re a new creation to experience all the benefits of being one. Over the past few days we’ve been talking about truths we all need to discover in God’s Word to walk out this new creation life. Specifically, we need to understand that God’s power is in us, Christ is in us, and God works through us. Today, let’s cover one more truth to understand. Such is the reliance and confidence that we have through Christ toward and with reference to God. Not that we are fit…to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God. 2 Corinthians 3:4–5 (AMPC) We’ve been on a series in our devotions this week, talking about how to live as the new creations we are in Christ. We’ve discussed how we need to look into the mirror of God’s Word to see our true reflection, and that there are specific things to look for as we study God’s Word. In your heart, His truth begins to give birth to health, joy, good self-worth, laughter, love and all sorts of wonderful things. However, there are a few specific things you need to see in God’s Word to develop an accurate self-image. Over the next few days, we’re going to cover …

Romans 8:9 (NKJV) Over the past few days we’ve talked about four false mirrors we rely on to tell us who we are. These mirrors lie to us and, because they give us a false sense of self, they limit us. For example, if you rely on others’ opinions as your mirror, you’ll focus on all the negative things people have ever said to you. Pretty soon you’ll start to live out this belief about who you are. It’s like …
