That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. Philippians 2:10 (NKJV) Do you ever wake up grumpy? The first thought in your mind might be, “Ugh, another stinkin’ day.” If that’s what is popping into your mind, no wonder you want to stay in bed! Don’t accept that thought! Instead, say, “This is the day the Lord has made. I’m going to rejoice and be glad in it!” (See Psalm 118:24.) If you find yourself thinking, Oh, I feel tired. I think I’ll just lay around all day, don’t accept that thought! You may be fighting an illness or disease that is making you tired at the moment. …
Say It to Hear It
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (NKJV) If God promised it, you can experience it. Period. God promised you prosperity. You might say, “Yeah, but no one in my family ever has money.” What are you going to claim over your life? God’s promise or your family’s financial history? You need to start claiming God’s promises. Inspired by Deuteronomy 30:9, you can say, “Father, thank you for your promises to prosper me. I claim this promise today. Thank you for prospering all the work of my hands!” God promised that you can have a calm spirit and a well-balanced mind. You can have a mind that is strong, not beaten down or condemned, but a mind …
Build The Right Beliefs
Words have power in matters of life and death, and those who love them will savor their fruit. Proverbs 18:21 (VOICE) Do you speak positively about your relationships, health, career, and finances? What are you declaring? Because according to our verse today, your words have power—life and death kind of power. I’m not saying that negative words hang over you like some sort of curse. And speaking God’s Word isn’t like invoking some sort of magical spell. To a great degree, the power of words has to do with the influence they have over your beliefs. I’m also not saying that you can’t talk about the problems you face. Just don’t speak about them in a negative, defeated kind of way. And as you do …
Calm The Storm
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Mark 4:39 (NIV) Words are powerful. Mark 4 tells the story of when Jesus calmed a violent storm with nothing more than words. You may have heard this story before, but there are a couple things I’d like you to notice today. First of all, as the story begins, Jesus didn’t say, “Hey guys, let’s all get in this boat and hopefully, God willing, we’ll get to the other side.” No, he said, “Let us go over to the other side” (v. 35, NIV). When the storm began to blow and the situation didn’t seem to be heading toward what Jesus …
Shape The Future
And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. Genesis 1:3 (AMPC) Your future is greatly influenced by the words you speak. This ability to speak words that alter reality is something we inherited from our Dad: God. Our verse today says that God spoke the universe into being with his words. When God speaks, things happen! When you speak, things happen too, especially when you claim God’s promises. Take Psalm 91 as an example. It’s filled with promises you can speak over your life or over the lives of others. Verses 4–7 say: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my …
