What I want to talk about now is the various ways God’s Spirit gets worked into our lives. 1 Corinthians 12:1 (MSG) I love the way 1 Corinthians 12:1 is worded in The Message Bible. God’s Spirit gets worked into our lives. We aren’t breaking into His power. We don’t need to beg Him to get involved. As believers, He is already inside us and He wants to work His way into every area of our lives…if we will let Him. The very definition of a victorious Christian life is a relationship with Holy Spirit. As you develop this relationship, you will learn to know when Holy Spirit is communicating with you. He will show you things you would have no way of knowing any …
You Are More Creative Than You Think
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28 (NKJV) God is the ultimate example of creativity. He can make something out of nothing. Although He is unchanging in His character, He’s no stranger to creative change. In fact, He invented it. Sometimes as individuals we forget that we are creative beings. We think that creativity is reserved for people with certain personality types— the artsy types. Actually, creativity comes in many forms. One of the most underrated uses of creativity is problem solving. When you think about it, most inventions are simply creative answers to specific problems. The light bulb answered …
Are You Feeling Stuck?
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6 (NLT) Have you become stuck in a rut, doing things the same way you’ve always done them? Most people dislike change. They try to find the perfect system to handle life and then they fight to hang on to it, whether it’s working or not. We are creatures of habit. We create bad habits with food and then struggle to get healthy. We form habitual ways of thinking and then we wonder why we always feel a certain way. Our relationships fall victim to habits as well—we tend to handle disagreements the same way. …
All Things To All People
I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. 1 Corinthians 9:22–23 (NKJV) On a visit to Athens, Paul gave a speech to the learned men of the city at Mars’ Hill. In Paul’s day, Mars’ Hill was the meeting place of the main governing body of the city. Paul was asked to speak with the ‘who’s who’ of the city and it is interesting to look at how he handled it. He started out with a compliment, It is plain to see that you Athenians take your religion seriously and went on to speak to them in the context of …
Faith Works
It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of all garden plants; it grows long branches, and birds can make nests in its shade. Mark 4:31-32 (NLT) Jesus said that we only need faith like a mustard seed—the tiniest seed of all. Yet this tiny seed of faith produces huge results! When planted, a tiny, mustard seed can grow to the size of a tree. In the same way, a tiny seed of faith can grow into a giant life-transforming belief with far reaching effects. That tiny seed of faith is all you need. Faith works. We simply need to understand the process of turning hope to faith. God’s Word planted …
