Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 (NKJV)
According to Psalm 37:4, you can take delight in the Lord, and He will “give you the desires of your heart.” So how can you learn to enjoy God?
I know that it can be difficult to feel God’s love for you when you can’t reach out and touch Him, but that doesn’t make His love any less real. Physical touch is only one expression of love, after all. God shows you His love many other ways.
Take a look around you at the beautiful world He created for you, for example. Think of the exciting life of adventure He’s planned for you that you can experience if you follow His lead. He cares about every little detail of your life, right down to the number of hairs on your head (Luke 12:7). And more than anything, He wants you to get to know Him…so much so that He gave up His Son Jesus for you.
God’s love for you will never change—He loves you immeasurably and will forever!
You have the opportunity to get to know God Himself. He loves you and wants to spend time with you every day. As you hang out with Him, His joy, peace and love become part of your everyday living, and He empowers you to fulfill the desires of your heart—inspiring you to develop and walk out a vision for your life that will lead you to the most fulfillment and purpose.
