You Can Break Through The Darkness

Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 (NKJV)

No matter what you’re facing, the answer is possible with God.

Yesterday we talked about 1 Samuel 30, where King David faced an impossible situation. An enemy army had raided their camp, taking their families captive. God assured David he would get them back, so he and his army set off, even though they faced incredible odds.

On their way, they came across a man who was dying. David took pity on the starving man, only to find out that the man had been a slave of the enemy. Once he regained his strength, the slave led David and his men right to the enemy army’s camp!

Half the battle (finding the enemy’s camp) was taken care of in one “chance” meeting—a meeting God had orchestrated. But David’s small army still needed to defeat the much larger enemy army. Again God made the impossible possible. Not only did they defeat the army to win back their families, but they gained a great deal more. The enemy army had been plundering city after city on their travels, taking wealth and livestock with them. David’s army regained everything they had lost as well as great compensation for their trouble.

Remember, just when the darkness seems that it will never end, the sun rises. Shortly after these terrible events happened, David was crowned king of Israel—the highest level of leadership he had ever attained. If you’re facing something that seems impossible, let this story inspire you to keep going.

God loves you. He cares about every single problem you face, and nothing is impossible with Him!
