Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation. 1 Peter 2:2 (AMPC)
The Spirit of God is calling you. He speaks to every believer, and He’s always communicating. He is call- ing you to rise up and move on.
As 1 Peter 2:2 teaches, He’s calling
you to pursue and crave Him and
His teaching the way newborn babies crave milk with all their being. And He’s calling you to act on the wisdom and direction you’re getting from Him and from His Word.
If you’re in a comfortable place in life, you may be tempted to just stay where you are, but the Spirit of God is calling you. He’s calling you in deeper.
God is calling you to a new level of humility and commitment. He’s calling you to a new place of wisdom and submission. He is calling you to walk in water not just up to your ankles, but up to your knees. Then, when that becomes comfortable, He’s calling you to walk up to your waist.
If you keep responding, there will come a time in life when you know you’re attempting more than what you can do on your own. You’ve waded in until you can’t touch the bottom. As your feet leave the ground, it might feel a little scary, but that’s good! Let Him take the lead because you can’t do it in your own strength anyhow.
Keep pursuing more of Him and His Word, and step out in faith. As you learn to rely on God more and more, you will start to develop an unshakable trust in Him.
