So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.
2 Thessalonians 1:11 (NLT)
God is calling you to move toward the next season of your life— the life He’s planned for you, which is the best possible life you can have.
On this path, it’s important to realize that He’s not necessarily calling you to a higher position. Although many make the mistake of thinking that, His calling doesn’t always lead to greater renown or fame.
If you’re in the choir, being called to
greater doesn’t mean you have to be-
come one of the lead singers. If you
end up with that position, that’s great. But if you continue to sing in the choir, that doesn’t mean you’ve settled. You may be exactly where God wants you.
If you’re on a team, you don’t necessarily have to become the leader to be following this call toward greatness. In fact, you don’t want to be the leader unless God puts you there! You don’t want to try to fulfill that role all in your own strength.
When God calls you, He’s not calling you to more recognition or position. His calling has to do with the bigger picture. It’s related to His desire to see everyone on earth come into relationship with Him, and it’s also very personal. It has to do with your internal development—what’s happening inside your heart as you grow closer to Him.
God is calling you to grow in Him, and this is a type of greatness that goes far beyond what fame, fortune or position alone could ever hope to o er.
