So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The “curtain” into God’s presence is his body. So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out.

Hebrews 10:19-25 (MSG)

Do you ever hesitate to talk to God? If so, why?

Often we think we’re too busy to spend time in conversation with God, but what’s really at the root may be more than busyness. Sometimes we avoid God because we don’t feel like we’re worthy of His time or attention.

The trouble is, we’re putting our focus on the wrong thing. Spending time with God isn’t about whether we’re worthy or not. Jesus is worthy, and if we are believers, we’ve inherited His worthiness through faith. We have direct access to God, not because we’ve earned it, but because Jesus earned it!

Read over today’s verses a few times and really think about what they’re saying. We can approach God without hesitation, knowing that we’re presentable inside and out. Under the old covenant, only the priest could enter God’s presence, and he could only enter “the Holy Place” behind the curtain after performing a strict set of rituals.

Under the new covenant Jesus made, we can approach God anytime.

In fact, His Spirit lives in us!

Never fall for the lie that you’re not worthy to be with God. You are accepted—completely. You are loved—passionately. Take advantage of the access you have to God today.
