Attractive Confidence

The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, [even then] in this will I be confident. Psalm 27:1&3 (AMPC)

Holy Spirit wants to lead and guide you on this awesome adventure called life. He also wants to help you speak and act in way that causes people to fall in love with Jesus in you.

We refer to this style of speaking and acting as being Spirit Contemporary. It’s adapting yourself to best relate to others, but it isn’t about being overly nice to the point where it feels like you’re trying too hard.

Actually, some see that touchy-feely stuff as a sign of weakness. I’m generalizing of course, but men can feel especially awkward if another guy acts super sweet and overly concerned about them.

On the other hand, being confident and secure in who you are in Christ causes you to be attractive to others. You don’t have to suck up to people to get them to like you. People just want to be around you.

Jesus was like this. He didn’t seem to worry about people leaving Him for His strong stance. He attracted people to Him…even those who seemed far from God. He was perfectly led by Holy Spirit and was powerfully attractive to people. He was Spirit Contemporary.

Don’t wear yourself out trying to get everyone to like you. Instead, live the great, big, exciting life God has for you! Study who you really are in Christ and then hold your head high in the revelation of who you are and what you bring to your church and your community.

People are attracted to confident Christians who show them respect.
