Angels All Around You

Leon FontaineDevoted

But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.”
Acts 5:19 –20

The Bible contains so many beautiful stories about angels. Today let’s take a look at what happened when an angel appeared to the apostles in the Book of Acts, because I believe it will inspire you.

At the time, word had begun to spread about the apostles. People would bring their sick into the streets to be healed, and the High Priest and the Sadducees didn’t like this at all. They arrested the apostles and had them put in jail.

During the night, God did the impossible. Somehow his angel released the apostles, despite the fact that the jail remained securely locked and the guards were still standing at the doors!

At day-break, the apostles entered the temple courts to teach the people, as the angel had instructed them to do. Meanwhile, the High Priest and their associates gathered together and sent word to the jail that they wanted the apostles brought to them.

Can you imagine how surprised they were to hear that the apostles had escaped? How could they explain the fact that the jail was secure, and yet the apostles were roaming the streets, free?

I want you to be excited, because our God is God of the impossible. If your eyes were opened to it, you would see a host of his angel soldiers around you, everywhere you go. When you’re walking down the street, they are there. When you’re on a plane, there they are right beside you.

Nothing is impossible with God!
