Discover His Peace

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

When the Old Testament prophet Isaiah caught a glimpse of the Saviour that would come, he referred to him as the “Prince of Peace.” Isaiah knew that this Saviour would do much more than just give you nice fuzzy warm feelings inside. He had seen what Jesus would bring to this planet.

Jesus would bring shalom peace—the potential for complete wholeness.

A relationship with Jesus brings peace because it makes God’s presence come alive inside you. It’s not necessarily something you feel immediately, although some say that they instantly experienced a sense of peace when they gave their lives to Christ. Regardless of the emotions experienced, something took place deep inside you when you made this decision. Instantly, God’s complete love and acceptance became yours, and it began to change you on the inside.

As you grow closer to Jesus and get to know him over time, this peace grows, along with the knowledge that you are fully loved and accepted just as you are.

When Jesus died, he did it so you could one day live with him forever in heaven. But he also died to give you complete wholeness in this lifetime—including his wonderful, phenomenal peace. Whatever you are facing in your life in this Christmas season, you can have peace…and Jesus is the source of that peace.

Spend time getting to know Christ this Christmas by reading the Bible and listening to great biblical teaching. Over time, you’ll discover the peace that is made possible when you give your life to Christ—his peace within you.
