Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.

We’ve been on a series of devotionals about angels, and today I’d like to cover a very intriguing topic: how to get angels to act on your behalf.
First of all, we need to look at this the right way. It’s not that we have to earn angelic help or any of God’s promises. When we give our lives to Christ, we inherit the right to begin to walk in his promises—and this is a progressive faith journey we continue to grow in for our entire lives.
So…what can influence angels to go to work?
God’s Word can…when believers claim it in faith. In Daniel 10:11–12, an angel was very specific in saying that he had come because of Daniel’s words. And Psalm 103:21 says that angels heed “the voice of His word,” clearing up what kind of words influence angels: God’s Word.
Does this mean that we need to speak directly to angels? No, we don’t pray to angels. We pray to the Father in Jesus’s name. And claiming God’s promises over our lives in faith is incredibly powerful—whether God uses angels to set up the right situations or he uses other means.
As you claim God’s awesome promises for you, faith comes, and you begin to walk out more and more of those promises in your life. As this happens, don’t be concerned with how the promises will come to be. Whether or not angels are involved isn’t important. Just keep claiming them, and give God all the glory!
