Develop your Gifts

He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (AMP)

Never allow yourself to get familiar with what God is doing in your life.

He’s had His eye on you since before you were born and has a destiny and purpose in mind for you. He placed eternity in your heart, a divinely implanted sense of purpose working through the ages. Everything that’s gone on from generations ago until now has led you to be where you are: perfectly positioned to impact the world around you.

That said, the gifts God has placed within you need to be developed.

If I asked who the most gifted quarterback in the history of football was, you might have a name. In reality, there may have been greater gifts sitting as spectators in the stands, but they never added skills to the gift that was in them.

There’s a difference between gifts and skills. Skills are something you work at; gifts are just in you. You are gifted. But will you develop your gifts? Will you learn to focus and manage your time? Will you learn to work with people? You can always keep adding skills to the gifts God has given you.

As you build on what you’ve been given and use it to serve God, you can change lives, impact your nation and touch the world for Christ. You can laugh, love and serve God with the grace He brings. Treasure what has been entrusted to you. You’re called and you’re blessed!
