Building is the Key

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:10–11 (NIV)

Experiencing the supernatural is all about the little things.

The most important things to look a er in life are the little things. Look a er your marriage, raise your kids well and build great friend- ships. Keep your house clean, plan holidays and take time to go for coffee. These little things keep you grounded.

It’s all about building, really, which seems like such an ordinary thing to do. But that very ordinary process is what leads to the supernatural.

Building takes work. Anyone can destroy; that’s easy. You can destroy an entire city with the push of a button. But what’s really hard is to build a city. Building a strong marriage, family or business takes work.

When we think that we just need to pray and wait for the spectacular to come along to fix everything, we miss it. Building is the key!

My first Sunday at Springs Church, I felt an impression from God. It went something like this: “You’ve learned to fight the good fight of faith, but I’m going to teach you to be a wise master builder.”

Paul talked about that in today’s verse. Are there times to ght? Of course. Sometimes you’ve got a sword in one hand and a trowel in the other, Nehemiah 4:17 shows us, but we can’t just be focused on fighting. Let’s build.

So wherever you are, take care of the little things. Build strength into your life, and make sure that what you’re building will outlast you.
