But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
2 Corinthians 4:7 (NIV)
When you gave your life to Christ, you became a new creation, and inside your mind there’s a battle going on for how you see yourself.
As you look to God’s perfect Word in the Bible to determine who you are, it affects what you believe in your heart. In your heart, His truth begins to give birth to health, joy, good self-worth, laughter, love and all sorts of wonderful things.
However, there are a few specific things you need to see in God’s Word to develop an accurate self-image. Over the next few days, we’re going to cover a few of these, but today, let’s talk about the first one. When looking into this new mirror, you need to see God’s power in you.
Today’s verse talks about this all-surpassing power within us that’s from God. To get to know who you are in Christ, meditate on verses that talk about this power in you. And the next time you look at yourself in your bathroom mirror, say, “God’s power is in me right now.”
You have to begin to believe and see that His power is in you—not just in your pastor or worship leader. It’s in YOU.
Start confessing that God’s power is in you. If you know someone who needs prayer because they’re sick, you can lay hands on them. If someone is interested in Jesus, you can lead them to invite Him into their heart. When you pray, you make tremendous power available. Believe it!
