Key #1: Self-worth

For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. Psalm 8:5 (NKJV)

One of the greatest needs we have in life is to have self-worth. In fact, having great self-worth is vital if you want to walk in God’s promises and the authority you have in Christ.
Self-worth is how much you feel you’re worth. It’s you feeling good about you. It’s feeling the love of God, knowing that you are important and that you aren’t lower than everybody else. And it’s vital because if you don’t feel good about yourself, you won’t live the life God has intended for you.
Over time, you may have received criticism that caused you to feel as if you aren’t as good as everyone else.

Or maybe you’ve had a few failures which caused you to think you’re not worth anything to God. It’s so important to know that He loves and values you, because when you know who you are to Him, your faith will rise. You’ll believe that He wants the best for you, which enables you to receive His best and use every challenge that comes your way as a stepping stone to rise above.
Don’t assume that your self-worth doesn’t matter. You need to build it up by realizing who you are and what you’re worth to God. Psalm 8:5 says that He has crowned us with glory and honour—in other words, dignity and worth. Keep remind- ing yourself of who you are to God and who He made you to be. As you do, you’ll begin to change how you see yourself. You’ll develop a beautiful self-worth that is firmly rooted in Christ, and you’ll begin to walk in the authority you have in Him.
