You have the keys!

And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Matthew 16:19 (NKJV)

When someone comes to work at our church, they are given a key. Each key has a different number, and each number opens doors at different levels of security. However, there’s one type of key that opens every door. When you have that key, you can walk up to any door in the building and open it.
This reminds me of Matthew 16:19, where it says that Jesus gave us the keys of the kingdom of heaven. As believers, the type of keys we’ve been given don’t just open a few doors. The keys we hold can open every door that leads to good things!
Operating under the boundaries of what is allowed and what is for- bidden in heaven, we have the keys to set free what we want set free in our lives and stop what we want stopped in our lives.
This concept is different from what a lot of people think about God. O en God is blamed for things; people think He allows tragedy to hap- pen. But in reality, God loves us and isn’t causing pain in our lives. We live in an imperfect world and sometimes stuff just happens—things like disease, tragedies and injustices. Other times, things happen because we haven’t learned to walk in the authority we’ve been given over that area of our lives.
Over the next few days, we’ll look at some of the keys to walking in that authority. These are keys to real change, and they will help you become who you really are: a born-again, power-filled child of God!
