For you have stripped off the old (unregenerate) self with its evil practices, and have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it. Colossians 3:9–10 (AMPC)
The Spirit of God is calling you. This calling is mentioned several times in the Bible, but what exactly is He calling you to? Primarily, you’re being called to be like Jesus!
Some people get all worked up try- ing to figure out what they’re called to do in life. The truth is that what you do comes second. What you do for a living, who you marry, how you serve God—these have a tendency to work themselves out as you focus on knowing who you are in Christ.
I’m not saying it’s a bad idea to build your career or your relationships.
Just remember that the most important call on your life is the call to walk out that Christ-like nature you have within you.
Today’s verse teaches to strip o the old you and put on the new. This new you is who you are in Christ. The more you get to know who He is, the more you come to know your capabilities in Him. So it’s time to move into what God has for you. It’s time to raise the bar. It’s time to make a decision to pursue God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and all that is within you.
Come back to the most fulfilling thing in life: a beautiful relationship with Jesus. Listen to the call of His Spirit on your heart—the call to be like Him.
