Uncomfortable On Purpose

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)

Many birds encourage their chicks to leave the nest by making the nest uncomfortable. They pull out the soft feathers so the twigs and sticks poke at the baby birds to make them want to leave.

If you’ve been feeling uncomfortable lately, there may be a reason. Maybe God wants you to move on!

God will sometimes lead you to make a change through a sort of dissatisfaction—an uncomfortable feeling of knowing something is just not right. Maybe nothing has changed—you’re just doing what you’ve always done—but something is off that you can’t quite put your finger on.

Don’t be alarmed if you’re uncomfortable. Holy Spirit wants to take you into the next season of your life, which may require you to get a bit uncomfortable. His main priority is your heart, not your comfort. He has a dream and a purpose for you, and often a little less comfort and a little more adventure is just what you need to achieve it. Besides, fulfilling your purpose is much better than living a comfortable life. It leads to much more satisfaction and enjoyment!

Actually, people who pursue comfort and happiness above all else experience the most unhappiness. People who pursue Jesus… those are the happiest people!

Life gets out of balance when all you think about is happiness, comfort and blessings. Yes, you’re entitled to all the blessings of God, but don’t chase after them. Don’t pursue comfort and happiness. You have a greater purpose, so be willing to get a bit uncomfortable because fulfilling your purpose leads to the best life you could ever imagine.
