Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Isaiah 40:28–29 (NLT)
Some people seem fragile. For whatever reason, you can sense that they are close to being on their last nerve. They might be smiling on the outside, but you can see the hurt in their eyes. It’s almost like they’re collapsing in on themselves. Other people seem to radiate energy.
They’re not putting it on, trying to get attention or make themselves look good, but something about them is different. There’s just something strong, confident, and attractive about them.
What I’m talking about isn’t a personality type. I’ve met fragile extroverts and strong, radiant introverts. What I’m talking about is of a deeper, spiritual nature. You can often tell which people have learned to draw strength from God because it radiates from them.
These people may be facing the worst problem of their lives, but regardless of the stress, sweat, and tears, they can access a strength that can’t be explained.
Living on your own strength is hard. You need to learn to pull from the high-octane power of the presence and the Word of God inside you. If you don’t draw from His strength you’ll feel like you’re running on empty. Why not live out your life fueled, energized, and burning His high-octane fuel?
I’m challenging you today to begin a journey with Holy Spirit. Learn to disconnect from your busy life. Reading this devotional is a great start, but make sure you spend time talking to God, worshipping Him, thanking Him, and listening for His direction.
