The Prayer Of Agreement

Leon FontaineDevoted

Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19 (NKJV)

Over the past few days, we’ve been discussing eight different types of prayer. Today we will cover the prayer of agreement.

Jesus summed up this prayer perfectly in our verse today: When two or more believers join together in faith for something, it’s going to happen (provided, of course, that what they pray for lines up with God’s Word).

When believers come together to pray and believe, it’s powerful. Do you take advantage of this prayer?

Many churches and ministries have prayer teams available for this very purpose—to agree with you in prayer. You can also agree with a friend or family member. First, talk to them about what you are going to pray for. Agree on what you believe will happen, and then pray a simple prayer.

Your words don’t have to be eloquent when you pray. The only thing that matters is that you both believe.

Make sure you pick someone who can confidently stand with you, though. If you need healing, it won’t help to agree in prayer with someone who isn’t sure God wants to heal you. And if they leave the conversation saying they really hope the prayer works, thank them and then look for someone who can really stand confidently with you.

Find someone to pray the prayer of agreement with you whenever you have a problem. Then, whenever that problem comes to mind, thank God for the answer that is on its way.
