For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:17 (NKJV)
Don’t forget the simplicity of the gospel. Jesus died for you and, if you accept Him, every promise in the Bible is yours.
According to our verse today, you have an abundance of grace. This means you have more of God’s strength and power within you than you will ever need. In Him, every promise is yours, and you are empowered to make choices that will cause you to live out the incredible life He has for you.
Some people argue that every promise in the Bible has an “if” attached to it. Deuteronomy 28:1–2 says that “if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments … all these blessings
shall come upon you and overtake you” (NIV). As a result, some Christians assume that they have to be obedient to the “if” mentioned in verses 1 to 2 before they can get what God promised in verses 3 to 14.
That may have been true in Old Testament times. However, 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (NKJV).
When it comes to the promises of God, the answer isn’t “Yes, if.” It’s just, “Yes!”
You see, Jesus fulfilled every “if” for you. If Jesus has something, you as a believer are entitled to it as well. It’s as simple as that.
It’s time to believe it, receive it and start walking out your decisions based on the fact that every promise is yours.
