For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (AMP)
God’s Word is powerful. In fact, today’s verse says it’s alive. It has the power to sift through the deepest part of your heart, replacing faulty beliefs with the truth.
As you learn the Word, misbeliefs you didn’t know about will be uncovered. You’ll begin to discover lies that were ingrained in you by your culture, upbringing, failures and hurts.
For example, things may have happened to you that stopped you from believing you could rise up financially. This misbelief is in the deepest part of your heart, but God’s Word is even more powerful. It begins to sift through those lies, and if you’ll just stay in the Word, those beliefs will begin to change.
The Word of God is like a scalpel, a double-edged sword. It cuts off wrong beliefs and replaces them with the right ones.
You’ll begin to realize who you are, who God is and what Jesus has done. You’ll discover just how powerless the devil actually is and you’ll find out what you’re called to be and what you’re gifted to do. As you begin to believe, your whole life will start to change.
God’s Word gets your mind and your heart in agreement with the promises God has given you so you can begin to walk them out.
