Years ago, I watched a movie with my kids about a country searching for the heir to their throne. Through DNA analysis, they discovered that an unsuspecting college student was the next in line to be queen. She went from struggling just to make ends meet to being royalty! Discovering the truth about her identity changed her life completely.
Many of us as believers struggle through life the same way, unaware of the truth about our identity in Christ and how incredible life can be with God’s spirit inside of us. We often live far below our potential, yet Christ didn’t die for us to live in defeat.
First Peter 2:9 says we’re royalty, and God has an incredible life planned for us! (See Ephesians 3:20.) The more we understand our identity in Christ, the more life-changing it becomes.
You can share in Christ’s attitude and live the way He did, secure in your relationship with God (1 Corinthians 2:16, Philippians 2:13). You can experience levels of financial blessing, laughter and peace in Him that you may not even realize exist. There are unparalleled levels of love and joy in Christ—and it never ends! (See Proverbs 4:18.)
Imagine walking in His love, gentleness and wisdom daily (Colossians 2:2–3). Picture yourself having awesome relationships, seeing incredible blessing in your life (Deuteronomy 28:8), and knowing deep and untouchable peace (Philippians 4:7).
Regardless of where you come from or what you’ve done—as a believer, you’re an heir, and you can experience every blessing and provision God has promised to His kids. That’s a secret worth sharing with the world!
