And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:35-36 (NKJV)
There are several qualities that generate happiness and one is knowing a true sense of freedom.
When we begin to feel like we are no longer free in our lives, it’s amazing how quickly a sense of bondage develops. Folks who feel a sense of enslavement often use language like, Well, I don’t have a choice, or There’s nothing I can do about it. Now, slavery is joyless, so why would we want to live as though we’re choice-less captives?
The good news is when you choose Jesus, you find no slavery—only liberty and joy!
You see, when you know the truths in God’s Word and how to apply them to your life, you discover a life full of freedom (John 8:31-32). We can nurture that freedom. The more you get into the Word of God, the more it empowers you to be who you are, who God has called you to be, and to rise up and do the things God has planned for you. As you push into the Word, make a decision that this sense of captivity is not allowed.
You know, when I talk to people who have discovered Jesus, I repeatedly hear the same awesome comments: I found freedom to be me! Or I found a freedom to rise up and defeat alcohol, or drugs or restore my marriage.
The whole beautiful message of the gospel is about freedom in every sense through Jesus. Choose Him and know true freedom and joy indeed!
