You Are More Creative Than You Think

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28 (NKJV)

God is the ultimate example of creativity. He can make something out of nothing. Although He is unchanging in His character, He’s no stranger to creative change. In fact, He invented it.

Sometimes as individuals we forget that we are creative beings. We think that creativity is reserved for people with certain personality types— the artsy types. Actually, creativity comes in many forms.

One of the most underrated uses of creativity is problem solving.

When you think about it, most inventions are simply creative answers to specific problems. The light bulb answered the problem of darkness. The telephone answered a communication problem. To be creative, all you need to do is detect problems and look for ways to solve them.

Very few people actually carry out their creative ideas because they fail to gain knowledge and skills. If you have no ability to carry out your creative ideas, they are only fantasy. For example, if disagreements with your spouse always end up in a shouting match, it’s time to get creative. However, it will be difficult to change your approach until you find different communication options. If you build your communication skills, you can creatively choose the right one for your situation.

Get creative. Become an innovative problem-solver by continually developing skills and finding fresh ways to handle situations.
