God Wants You To Be The Best

If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat. Isaiah 1:19 (NLT)

God wants you to realize that you can be the best.

Many Christians may have a real problem with this statement because they have been taught that to follow Christ is to be lowly. It is absolutely true that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6, NLT), which is why I am not saying that God wants you to think you are better than everyone else. However, He does want you to be the very best you can be.

Believing that you are capable of anything God asks you to do is not pride; it is faith.

God also wants you to have the best, or as Isaiah 1:19 puts it, the good things of the land. If the best for you is to live at your current standard of living, that is totally fine. However, if you could have better but you are held back by low self-esteem, it is not okay! God put Adam and Eve in the Garden, not the Desert of Eden. He wants you to have the best!

If you compare yourself to others, you will always come up short because you will tend to compare your worst with others’ best. Stop measuring your worth in comparison to others and simply be the best YOU that you can be.

Focus on beating your own personal best; you have the God-given ability to do so.
