And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 (ESV)
Some think that it is a huge struggle to find out what God wants them to do. They believe that He has hidden some sort of great task for them that they may never find. Why would God do that? He wants you to fulfill your purpose even more than you do!
God doesn’t mumble or speak in code. When you put God first, seek His wisdom and serve Him, He will direct you. Opportunities to discover your talents and abilities will be evident and direction apparent as you serve God.
Some people struggle with their purpose because they are hesitant to submit to leadership. Although we are all called to be leaders in life, we all need to allow ourselves to be led as well. Too many people want to do it their way, and when they can’t have their way, they give up. They miss out on benefiting from an awesome leader who will work with them to help coach and cultivate their gifts. Or, because they can’t put their finger on a cause they want to devote their life to, they assume they are cause-less. Meanwhile, if they would only find a passionate leader who was going places with a noble cause, they could do so much and achieve great things alongside a team.
Do you want to find your purpose? Just put your hands to the work that is in front of you. Show compassion and do something to serve someone else. Get plugged in by volunteering at a life-giving church. Before you know it, the direction God wants you to go in will be obvious.
