God gave the Holy Spirit and power to Jesus from Nazareth. He was with Jesus, as he went around doing good and healing everyone who was under the power of the devil. Acts 10:38 (CEV)
According to Acts 10:38, God anointed Jesus with Holy Spirit and power. Why is this crucial to you? Because Jesus didn’t perform one miracle until he was baptized in Holy Spirit.
When Jesus came to earth, “he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being” (Philippians 2:7, NLT). He functioned as a man, not as God. His power to perform miracles came from Holy Spirit, which entered Him after He was baptized by John the Baptist. As a man, He modelled for us how to function as a Spirit-filled human being.
If Jesus didn’t perform miracles until He was filled with Holy Spirit, neither will we.
Keep in mind, Holy Spirit doesn’t just perform miracles when people are down and out. He can heal cancer but He can also lead us into health. He can help someone to find enough money to put food on the table but He can also lead us to prosper. He can do a miracle that protects us from being injured in a crash but He can also help us to avoid an accident. Some of the most incredible miracles on the planet are those that lead us around trouble.
As a member of God’s family, believe that He fills you with His great power. Just like Jesus, you are “anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power” to go “about doing good and healing” because God is with you! (Acts 10:38, NKJV)
