[All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:24 (AMPC)
A confident belief in what God has promised us can cause us to overcome anything. But how do we develop the overcoming kind of faith that can move mountains?
There are two specific concepts we need to understand that lead to confident belief: grace and righteousness. Yesterday we touched on both, but let’s recap.
The grace of God became ours when we gave our lives to Jesus, and this grace encompasses so much. Grace is God’s mercy and favour in our lives, but it’s also His power and ability in us and His full provision for every part of our lives. It’s the amazing strength and overcoming power we now have in us, by which we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13)!
Righteousness means right standing with God. It means that your sins are forgiven and heaven is your eternal home, but it also means that you have the right to a vibrant, healthy, intimate relationship with your Father God, who wants you to spend time with Him and learn to walk in the fullness of the abundant life Jesus gave us.
God doesn’t expect us to handle this life on our own strength. We have His power and ability in us, empowering us to become all that He says we can be, and helping us to access His peace and joy in the middle the most stressful times of life.
God’s grace provides you with His miraculous, life-transforming power. Choose to look to His promises for the encouragement you need to stand strong and overcome!
